Somali region battles to control massive fire in Jigjiga city’s major commercial district
Efforts are ongoing to control a massive fire that broke out in Jigjiga city, the capital of Somali regional state, in a shopping district housing commonly known as the New Taiwan Market. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Local media, Somali Fast Info., reported that efforts are currently underway to control the fire by coordinated efforts involving emergency prevention teams, security forces and medical professionals who are working together to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the city.
