U.S. Horn envoy says #Ethiopian gov’t and Tigrayan authorities must deliver on their commitments of the Pretoria agreement

In his remarks at the ongoing first strategic review on the implementation of the Pretoria Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (#CoHA) at the African Union premises in Addis Abeba, U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer, “stressed that the Ethiopian government and Tigrayan authorities must deliver on their commitments”, according to U.S. Mission to the African Union (USAU).

Ambassador Hammer’s remarks were particularly regarding the disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR), return of internally displaced persons (IDPs), transitional justice and accountability “in order to deliver a lasting peace.”

Ambassador Hammer was accompanied by USAU Charge d’affaires Mikael Cleverley.
