BOSASO, PUNTLAND β A covert Turkish arms shipment en route to Mogadishu-based administration has been intercepted by Puntland Maritime Police Forces and is now being tugged to Bosaso port under tight security.
According to sources onboard, the ship, disguised and operating under false flags, was carrying high-grade weaponry, including armoured personnel carriers and crates of advanced arms hidden beneath the hull. This operation, likely coordinated to bypass international scrutiny, is the latest proof of Ankaraβs deepening military entanglement in Somalia’s internal conflict.
Other sources cite the owner of the illegal arms weapons, Abdi Nassir Ali Adoon, a former American citizenΒ whose passport was revoked due to his illicit activities. The U.S. Department of the Treasury sanctioned his businesses in Turkey (Adoon General Trading Gida Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi and JJO General Trading Gida Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi).

Puntland authorities remain on high alert, vowing a full investigation and warning foreign actors against smuggling weapons into their sovereign waters.
