UN Helicopter Emergency Landing Turns Hostile

UN Helicopter Emergency Landing Turns Hostile:

Al_Shabaab Takes At Least Seven Passengers Captive in #Galgadud.

A United Nations helicopter, en route from Beledweyn to Wisil in Mudug, was compelled to make an emergency landing on the outskirts of Hiindheer town in Galgadud due to technical malfunctions. Unfortunately, at least seven passengers on board are reported to have been taken hostage by the #Al_Shabaab terrorist group, which controls the area.

In response to this critical situation, the Somali Armed Forces are actively working to secure the release of the hostages. This mobilization follows the Somali federal government’s declaration of war against the terrorist organization #Al_Shabaab in early 2023, resulting in the liberation of multiple towns and villages near the location of the incident.

The ongoing collaborative efforts between the #UN and #SNA emphasize the commitment to rescuing the hostages. The federal and state government’s dedication to countering terrorism and ensuring the safety of its citizens and international partners remains unwavering.
