LATEST ON TIGRAY TPLF FACTIONS.
1) The TPLF faction led by Debretsion to have “removed President @reda_getachew his post as interim President of Tigray region.
2) The Tigray IRA, led by @reda_getachew, calls it an “official coup declaration” and pledges legal action against TPLF faction of Debretsion.
3) The Tigray Security Forces state “We will not allow anarchy, and we will not remain silent.”
Getachew Reda, Tigray’s interim president, and his section of the TPLF, including General Tsadkan, are closely allied with Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed’s Prosperity Party (PP), while TPLF chairman Debretsion believes that the delegates he sent to the Pretoria peace meeting with Ethiopia, led by the AU, had a secret coup to dismantle the TPLF.
Debretsion is allied with most senior members of the TPLF and is rumored to have contacts with the Eritrean govt. He has regrouped in the second largest cities of the Tigray Region Shire, and some other cities of Tigray region including Adigrat, Zalambessa and Axum, near the Eri.
