The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the President of Puntland, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, have officially today cut the tape for the first phase of Garacad Port in Mudug region.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the President of the South West, the President of the Somali Region, the Minister of Defense of Kenya, and other dignitary from Ethiopia, Djibouti and the United Arab Emirates.
The port of Garacad, which is the fifth port in Somalia, was built in consultation and cooperation with the people and the government of Puntland.
The construction of the first phase of Garacad Port which consists of two Sectors (A&B) has been completed in 3 years. The construction of the second phase of the main bridge of the port will be started earnestly.
