An extension has been made for the time that ATMIS troops can continue to work in Somalia
For a period of 6 months starting from June 30 to December 30, 2023, the African Union mission in Somalia has been extended.
As expected, if nothing changes, it is planned to end the Atmis operation in Somalia in December 2024.
Around 20,000 Atmis forces will be withdrawn from Somalia as planned, with the intention of replacing them with Somali forces supported by International community.
