Ethiopia and the United Kingdom signed this morning a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance peace and stability in the Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia border areas.

Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (#MoFA) Said the MOU “aims to boost the resilience of communities across the Ethiopia-Kenya-Somali borders to the drivers of violent extremism.”

Ambassador Jemaludin, Deputy Director General of the Africa Department and the British Ambassador to Ethiopia Darren Welch signed the MOU at the premises of MoFA.

“The two sides expressed their commitment to working together to reduce the threat posed by Al-Shabaab in the region,” MoFA’s dispatch reads.
