Bosaso, March 29, 2025 – Powerful airstrikes were heard today, Saturday, in the areas between the Miraale and Baalade valleys, targeting the remnants of the ISIS militants who fled from previous attacks.
According to Puntland Defense Forces stationed in Miraale, the strikes are concentrated in the areas between the two valleys, where some of the fleeing ISIS fighters are still hiding. The explosions from the bombardment have been described as intense and continuous.
The Puntland government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the entity conducting the strikes. However, military officials who spoke to our sources indicated that Puntland’s international partners, particularly the United States, are carrying out these airstrikes—similar to the ones conducted days earlier in Miraale, which targeted ISIS militants.
These recent operations are part of an ongoing effort to eliminate ISIS militants from Puntland’s mountainous regions.
