The Palestinian factions meeting in Cairo announced in a statement, Friday, that they agreed to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a temporary Palestinian committee composed of independent “technocrats” from the Strip.
They added that this committee will manage the basic services in the Strip in cooperation with Arab countries and international institutions, based on transparency and national accountability.
They also agreed on establishing an international committee to oversee the financing and implementation of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, while emphasizing the unity of the Palestinian political system and independent national decision-making.
The Palestinian factions agreed to support and continue implementing the ceasefire agreement, including, the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the complete lifting of the blockade imposed on it, the opening of all crossings, including the Rafah crossing, the entry of all humanitarian and health supplies, and the commencement of a comprehensive reconstruction process that will restore normal life to the Strip and end the suffering of its citizens.
The Palestinian Factions agreed on taking all necessary measures to maintain security and stability throughout the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of issuing a UN resolution regarding the interim UN force to be formed to monitor the ceasefire.
The factions called for an end to all forms of torture and violations against prisoners in Israeli prisons, and the necessity of obligating the occupation to abide by international laws and conventions, and continuing joint work to unify visions and positions to confront the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian factions thanked Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the mediators for their efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause.
They renewed their appreciation for Arab, Islamic, and international efforts, including President Trump’s efforts to stop the war on Gaza.
