The Ministry of Interior of Puntland will announce in the next few hours the official time when local councils will be established in 30 districts, which were elected by the people of Puntland on the 25th of May.
Puntland’s Interior Minister, Abdi Farah Juha, held a meeting with Puntland’s political parties a few days ago, and discussed the construction of district administrations, in order to speed up the work of local governments. An informed source told IDILNEWS that the Local Council of 30 districts will be established later this August.
A serious competition for the cooperation of political parties in Puntland has now started in the area. The KAAH party led by President Saeed Deni is seeking political support from the parties that received few votes in some districts, so that they can build local governments.
